2018-19 Regattas

All regattas are attended by teams from all over the state.  We typically leave on Friday morning at 10 AM so we can practice on the course on Friday afternoon.

Racing takes place on Saturday only with the exception of the State and Southeast Championship Regattas.  For these two regattas, racing takes place on Saturday AND Sunday.

East Coast Classic

Dates: Friday & Saturday, October 12 &13

Host: Sebastian River High School Crew

Location:  Canal 54, Fellsmere, FL

Varsity only.  Our first race of the year!


Fall Sprints

Dates: Friday & Saturday, December 7 & 8

Host: Plant High Rowing Association

Location: Bypass Canal, Tampa, FL

Varsity & Novice.  Novice’s first race!


Miami Shake An Erg 

Date: Saturday, January 26

Host: Shake A Leg Miami

Location: Coconut Grove, FL

An indoor rowing competition where each rower rows for 2,000 meters on an ergometer.  Varsity only.  A warm up for Southern Sprints!  All proceeds go to Shake A leg Foundation,


Novice Regatta

Dates: Friday & Saturday, February 1 & 2

Host: Lake Brantley Rowing Association

Location: Turkey Lake, Orlando, FL

A regatta exclusively for Novice!  A rower is classified as a Novice for one year beginning with their first competition.


Southern Sprints

Date: Saturday, February 9

Host: Florida Institute of Technology

Location: Melbourne, FL

An indoor rowing competition where each rower rows for 2,000 meters on an ergometer.  Required for Varsity.  Optional for Novice.  We drive up and return on Saturday, so an overnight stay is not needed.   Check out https://www.ergracer.com/ for more information.


Sarasota Invitational Regatta

Dates: Friday & Saturday, February 22 & 23

Host: Sarasota County Rowing

Location: Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota, FL

Varsity and Novice.  An opportunity to race on a world class race course and where States will be held.


OARS Youth Invitational

Dates: Friday & Saturday, March 8 & 9

Host: Orlando Area Rowing Society, Inc.

Location: Turkey Lake, Orlando, FL

Miami International Regatta

Date: Saturday, April 6

Host: Miami Rowing Club

Location: Key Biscayne, Miami, FL

Varsity and Novice.  No overnight stay.  And, since it’s right down the road, it’s a great regatta for family and friends to attend and see what Crew is all about!


STA Spring Break

Dates: Wednesday-Sunday, April 17-28

No, this is not a race.  But, it is a very important period in our training as we head into States!  Please ensure you are home to attend all practices.  Thank you!


FSRA Sweep Championship (States)

Dates: Friday-Sunday, April 26-28

Host: Florida Scholastic Rowing Association

Location: Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota, FL

Varsity and Novice.  This is the state championship for sweep boats and what we train for all year!  It requires leaving on Friday morning and staying overnight on Friday AND Saturday.  Racing is on Saturday AND Sunday.


USRowing Southeast Youth Championship (Regionals)

Dates: Friday-Sunday, May 10-12

Host: USRowing

Location: Oakridge, TN

This is the championship regatta for all teams in the Southeast.  We will be racing crews from Florida as well as Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee.  Our results from the state regattas will determine which boats/athletes will go to this regatta.


SRAA Regatta (Scholastic Nationals)

Dates: Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25

Host: Scholastic Rowing Association of America

Location: Dillon Lake, OH

This is the national championship regatta for school teams.  Only our boats that are comprised of all STA girls are eligible.  Boats are invited based on their results at qualifying regattas.  States is the qualifying regatta for Florida.


USRowing Youth National Championship (Nationals)

Dates: Wednesday-Saturday, June 5-8

Host: USRowing

Location: Sarasota, FL

This is the championship regatta for all teams in the United States.  It is by invitation only.  Boats that medal at Regionals are invited.
